Camps: “A place where kids learn more than just riding”


Activities Include:
Daily riding lesson, learning to feed horses in the morning, clean stalls, grooming & brushing horses, bathing horses, learning to tack up, daily swimming, cool off horses, conformation classes, art activity, cleaning up the barn, weekly trail ride thru the woods, guest farrier presentation, learn to clean tack and parts of the equipment, vet bandaging clinic, pony parlor contest… a favorite & end of the week horse show. Our students learn more than just riding!

2022 Camp Dates: 

Advanced Camp Counselor in Training Camp:  How to be a counselor, teaching role model skills, expectations of introductory instructing, leadership skills.  This is designed for students 12 years and older that ride at a certain level and maturity level to counsel campers.  Each day every camper will ride one or two horses, but reviewing how we are setting up for camps the rest of the summer.    June 16th &17th (9:00 am. to 3:30 pm.)  Must contact Heather Personally to make sure this is a fit for your child.  

Summer Pony Camp:  Beginner thru Advanced Ages 5-17yrs

9:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm.  On Friday camps end at 12:00 p.m. 
Please make sure kids are picked up promptly at end of camp each day at 3:30 p.m.  We still have work to do on the farm.

Camp 2022 form

New this year, Fox Hunting Clinic

Introductory for Beginners and  for students that have hunted lightly:  Must be at a walk trot canter level for this 3 day clinic.  Seasoned fox hunters available to learn on and we invite you to bring your own mount for ship ins. I am happy to assess appropriateness of students horses for the hunt field that is included if horses are shipped in.   August 3-5th:   8:00 am – 12:00 pm.  Cost is $300.00 for all three days.  Students will learn the fundamental aspects of fox hunting, go on a mock hunt, school over obstacles common in the hunt field (appropriate size jumps for the level of rider), learning to ride in a group, gallop openly, learn etiquette and roles of the hunt staff, masters, landowners, and conditioning and prepping your horse for the hunt field all wrapped up with appropriate attire and turnout for the hunt field.  Limited Space, first come first serve on available mounts.

We will fill up! First come first serve, deposit only refundable if we have another child on a waitlist to replace them.  Exceptions can be worked out with Heather.  (We had no conflicts last year and want to work with our parents if there are covid concerns.)

COVID-19 protocol:  Children are not required to wear masks at this time, this could change due to CDC guidelines. Our staff will not be wearing masks, but we will have all CDC protocols in place including hand washing, no sharing, lots of space to eat, and will guide children to practice safe protocols.
